In 2019 - 2020 all the hard work that has been going in GAA over the past number of year was rewarded with the school winning 'Best Hurling School in Dublin' at the Friends Of Dublin Hurling awards dinner and we also came third in the All Ireland promotion of Gaelic Games and Culture category at the Cornmarket Cumann na mBunscol Awards in Thurles. Our school participates in the Cuman na mBunscol competitions and over the years we have had many fantastic days in Croke Park. Hurling and Gaelic Football are also strands of the Physical Education Curriculum. We are very fortunate to have a very close working relationship with Lucan Sarsfields GAA club and Dave Moran who comes in to coach a lot of the classes.
The teachers involved are:
Training for Gaelic Football is on every morning from 8:30 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. until Halloween and Hurling training is on every morning after Halloween.
2018 was a good year for all the teams. The girls' football and camogie teams made it through to the quarter final stage, while the boys' football team got to the semi final and the boys' hurling team got to the final in Croke Park. We were looking forward to another successful season in 2020.
Hopefully, we look forward to another good school year for the Gaelic Games teams in 2021-2022.
